Awesomes Rollers Recalibrated
« on: November 01, 2008, 07:52:20 pm »
Quote
From a phone conversation today with Hurdy as he attented the Seat v Ukmkiv's Rolling road day.

Awesome's 375bhp GTi was retested and produced 357bhp!, whilst other stock Cars produced Stock figures!!...... at last it seems there is a rolling road with believeable figures.
Hurdy re-tested his aswell to the tune of 324bhp and 360Ibs ft of torque.

Awesome say that all previous runs to take off approx 20bhp from your previous results from them to give your corrected RR results. ,ie 250 K03 GTi's will be at 230bhp, which makes there results near on identical to results from JKM.

Mystery solved

Taken from Golfgtiforum.co.uk. This is according to officer Dribble... How does this effect any of the results you guys got here?

A lot of that is not true. Firstly many of the stock Seat Cupra's on the day were producing 260 bhp, 20 more than manafacturers figures! Hurdy got 315 bhp before the 'recallibration' but 324 bhp after with the car in the same tune, how does that make sense! I for one do not believe that Awesome would tell customers that have had RR sessions before the 'recallibration' to take 20 bhp off their figures! Complete bollocks!  :indifferent:

There is more to the "before" figure that meets the eye.

I suggest you ask Hurdy for a fuller explaination via a PM.

I know he was having problems with the car beforehand with clutch slip etc.....but not to the tune of taking 20 bhp off the result  :happy2:

He says he will only trust Dyno Dynamic rollers, they are the most accurate. I think the years of evidence on golfgtiforum.co.uk prove that there other rollers out there that are very accurate. And like you say Neg I don't understand why it bothers him so much, if he was remapped yeah, but he isn't!  :sleepy:

I did query his reluctance to accept any other dyno results in a polite manner.

in fact joe this would have been good to know.

Did you ever get any logs from your car?  Would be interested in your boost figures to see if your meeting requested.

As regards to Phil I think he is like me when you dont know anything about Rolling roads you cant understand why a stock car out of the factory can have 20 or 25 more horsepower than VW's own testing. So when his car went on DD rollers and got pretty much a stock result then that has convinced him that there are errors in most other results. I knowing nothing about how this can be come to pretty much the same conclusion, i just shrug my shoulders Phil is defending something he does not uinderstand.  :fighting2:

nothing yet - your normally on top of these things, if you dont know about it its probably not worth knowing!

As for different results - they can vary slightly, better fuel, colder days for turbo cars etc etc but you should expect something around the stock figures, 260 from a stock 230 car it a little over IMO.
