Volkswagen passat with orange holstens and air-ride
« on: May 26, 2010, 06:13:39 pm »
Having done Frasers car just over a year ago he approached me again to remove some swirls that it had picked up in this time.
He asked for a full correction detail, so here it goes.......

Products used were......
-Megs APC
-Megs de-greaser
-Megs last touch
-Megs all seasons dressing
-Megs shampoo plus
-Megs gold class trim detailer
-Megs #105
-Megs #205
-Megs #80
-Gloss it green pad
-3M black gloos pad
-CG new look trim gel
-various brushes and mitts
-Eurow deep pile towels
-AG fast glass
-AG leather care
-VP bilberry
-Henry the hover
-Zaino Z-8
-CYC yellow clay
-3M 3434 masking tape
-Vics concours wax
-Dodo orange crush
-Menz top inspection
-AS tardis

So the car was dropped off looking like this

First up was the wheels, these were sprayed with Billberry through a foaming head at 10:1, this was worked in with a swissvax detail brush then power rinsed off leaving this

next up was the rest of the car, this was rinsed with the karcher then foamed with Megs shampoo plus, while this was working away i went round the window seal, grilles and badges etc.

The car was then rinsed down and washed using a souns mitt and 2BM with Megs shampoo plus, this was then rinsed down again and car was clayed with Megs last touch as a lubricant and CYC yellow clay, larger tar spots were removed with AS tardis.

The engine bay was done with megs APC and De-greaser as was the door shuts etc...
Before

after

The car was then rinsed down the remove any contaminants left behind, car was then sheeted with water tp aid the drying stage

Car was then ried with a poorboys ultra plush drying towel

once the car was dried it was taped up read for the correction stage, this was carried out with a gloss it green pad and megs #105 and #205
The car was then done with Megs #80 on a 3M gloss enhancing pad.

A few pics from the corection stage.....

After this the car was then taken outside and given a foam and a rinse to get rid of polish dust etc and then dryed again. The paintwork was then treated with Victorias concours wax, whle this was curing, the plastic trims and tyres were dressed woth Megs trim gel and CG new look trim gel.

Wax was then buffed off with deep pile eurow towels and the glass done with AG fast glass.

The interior was hovered out with henry the hover, all plastics etc were wiped down with megs APC and leather dressed with AG leather care.

Car was given a final wipe down with Zaino Z-8 to leave this.....

It's not long at all for a full correction. It takes me up to 12 to do an enhancement.

there were areas on the car that didnt really need alot of attention, a few passes with #205 gave the desired finish. On the other hand the drivers side seemed to be worse of.
Also Truckie off of here done most of the interior for me and dresssed up the plastics leaving me to get on with the paintwork.
Does this help you make it a more believable?
Not that i feel your trying to have a go or anything

10 hours correction time was just a stab in the dark, it was spread over two day and didn't have my stopwatch handy so it may have taken longer. Plus with the help from truckie it cut the time down.
