geometry reset needed...toe setting bit off probably (hitting potholes / kerbs can do that)

Sure does...  :ashamed:

Had mine done today for this exact problem, people at the alignment place told me off, it was miles out everywhere!

Isn't this sometimes a sign that the shocks can be on the way out too boys?
I've got this problem too, very mildly though.

Cheers.

Do you have a crap load of speed bumps in your local area?

Particularly ones like this:

Those particualar types of speed humps often cause uneven tyre wear. Basically the humps are extremely badly designed as a car cannot straddle the hump.

Your best bet is to drive with one wheel off the hump and the other driving completely over it.

^^^ I'm the same Steve. Went to Kwik fit today actually and know a guy there well. Assessed my rear Pilot sports and they're uneven as fack, presumably only from these as my shocks seemed fine on a visual assessment (done at Kwik fit).

From my home, you cannot drive out the estate without coming across 3/4 of these speed bumps, despite the fact there are 4 different routes out the estate. The whole thing is a 20mph limit so it's impossible to avoid them and I must straddle 15 of these daily, at least.  The GTI is just wide enough to go over them neatly without causing too much of a bump, i.e. its width is suitable. Still wears though.

Seems like absolutely nothing I can do  :fighting: :fighting:  :sad1:, not sure about yourself?

Mines in at Mid VW in a couple of weeks for this - cost approx £30 to £90 depending on how much adjustment if I remember correctly.
