I'm surprisd that a VW dealer is selling this.  Do VW dealers sell cars that have been modified, whether it has been cosmetically or performance wise?

I believe there are a few knocking around at various dealers - they are actually officially sanctioned demo cars!!!

....It's an Abt conversion and approved by VW as far as I know.

Ahhh...does that mean that their remaps are approved by VW?

I don't know for absolute certain but I'm fairly sure that's the case where VW dealers are selling the Abt version Mk6's.
