My first polish one little issue.

My tips were beyond polishing. i took them to Pipewerx and got my old ones cut off and shiney new ones fitted  

coupled that with a high flow sports cat i bought from Aparoon on here also from pipewerx and i love it

Where in the north east would I get that done? Am I right in thinking they fit on top of the pipe ends like a sleeve ?

they cut the ends off then welded the new tips on to replace the old ones. very simple and they have a selection in the workshop that you can choose from

AAS in newcastle will be able to do this you can choose / Tyre Spot in newcastle also do powerflow exhaust (custom but not supposed to be the best) but it's only tips.

Have you clayed the car at all or have you just gone straight for the polish ?

Regarding the mark on the roof, if you think it is definatly something stuck to it then try a little AG intensive tar remover.
If it is lacquer peal from bird muck not alot you can do about that really without the help from a bodyshop.
My tail pipes looked like they had never been cleaned when i bought the car. Soaked them with AG engine  cleaner and scrub, then wire wool with metal polish and repeat several times!!!!

This is the order of the Mr Punch detail....Had a VERY VERY bad experiance with clay once after buying some from a show when I had a Audi TT never used it since 










And sometimes I use this on any slight swirls / light scratches



Anyone else use these products ?

What wrong with the claying? It's an awesome experience. most of your products look like you bought them from halfrauds in which case buy the megs smooth surface clay kit. There's a thread on how to use it somewhere in the detailing section.

Otherwise I've found the endurance tyre gel to be better than the other stuff. Hot Rims can be a bit harsh so would use only if the wheels were very dirty.

00 grade wire wool and a decent metal polish should do the trick if there saveable mate, and it sounds like bird etching on the roof, get a pic up

Did mine this way as they were black & looked like they had never been cleaned from day one.Other option is bin the exhaust & get a Milltek,thats what i did.(other systems are avaliable).

These pics make it look really bad & it does not look white like the photo's it looks black like the car but rough to touch

The 50p spot could be lime etching left by a birds dinner ;) if so it won't appear like a patch of scratches. Mainly it will look bubbly (but flat) and can sometimes make paint look dull.

If it is that, then it's not really something your average hobbyist can sort. When I come across it, 8 times out of 10 it can be sorted withwet sanding the area.

I would always ask the customer first though, it's up to them how I deal with it. It can remove 10 or so microns to shift the evidence of bird etchings.

Sometime ago now I owned a Audi TT, I attended a Car show in Yorkshire & watched a demo on how to clay.......

 I was hooked........I bought some not cheap I may add..........The following day I carried out the procedure....... I scratched the full back passenger quarter I was destroyed I could not believe I did this?  or the clay exposed what may or may not of been there already??????

I had not had the car long a couple of weeks tops... had the dealer covered this up & the clay unearthed the scratches I dont know anyway I have never used it since.

I dont think I would of caused that much damage if I used wire wool.....And no I did not drop the clay...I just put it down to experience and never went near it again.

Did you use lubrication in the form of quick detailer? Did you wash down the surface to get of any loose grit etc? Did you drop the claybar on the ground? What grade was it?

If done properly and with enough lubrication you should never incur scratches from claybar use.

I would honestly recommend claying. Try it again.

I did not use any lube...I did wash the car prior though

I dont know what grade it was it came in a tin and it was yellow and they were detailing a very expensive Porsche from Malton Specialist Cars..with the same stuff I'm sure they were using just water as lube? It cost me £65

I may have another go but I'd like to see it done again by somebody who knows what they are doing... maybe I did not pay enough attention last time
