it was probably Swissvax clay if it was from malton.

still waaaaay expensive! they must be used to fleecing their customers! haha!

You cant clay without lube mate, thats what has happened. i wouldnt have thought you have done any lasting damage, just lots of marring!

Looking back now it was probably not as bad as I thought at the time....However it still knocked me sick

Your definition of marring...... can you describe this a little better for me to understand what marring is?

I am tempted to have another go at claying but I will probably only do one area just in case. :chicken:

What do you recommend ? I could probably dig out the yellow clay it will be in the garage somewhere....does it have a shelf life?

I've never used the swissvax stuff. JPC prolly has a better idea. Personally I'd just start off with megs smooth surface kit. Comes with two bars of clay, lube, cloth. Also comes with cleaner wax though I've never used this stuff. All from your local halfrauds.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Exhaust needs some 00 grade wire wool, some Autosol Metal Polish, and plenty of enbow grease!!

I have tons of wire wool if you want some mate - may even be able to dig out some autosol metal polish as well.
I used to use it on my ED30, but since I sol dthat I dont really use it on my soot chucker any more!

In reagrds to the patch on the roof - that doesnt look like bird poo to me. Thats looks like bloody Eagle Poo!

Hi IFTI,

I had my first go at my tips at the weekend see this link
http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,15448.0.html

The car lived in Cardiff..... before I got it........ a couple of weeks ago.

Is Cardiff full of eagles like??

I thought it was full of Bluebirds, Bluebirds.........

Anyhow they have made a right mess of my roof top .

Just waiting for my clay & lube see if that shifts it???? :happy2:
