VW emblem on key fob

tried changing mine today, totally fooked up the key!!  how do you get the old one off?

My approach will be to warm up the fob then use a sharp blade to lift the old one off.

let me know how you get on, I tried cutting, scrapping and even drilling  ended up making a ret mess, just stuck the new one over the abortion, it looks ok, but I think I will need a new fob!
