Be aware that Carl tends to err on the side of chasing more POWER!! Carl was encouraging me to up mine beyond 7 but I prefer to take JKM Keith's advice on this as Keith has data logged and dyno'd my individual car many times.

I'm running Boost 6 and Fuel 9. Upping the Boost to 7 will increase power but my car is nicely balanced and driveable as it is. But ETTO as always. I used to run Boost 7 before my boost leak problem.

Just been exchanging a few PM's with Carl from Revo on the other forum, and he thinks that my boost should be able to be plugged up much higher than 6, and my fuel could go from 8 (currently) to 9, without inducing any form of fuel cut. However this is contrary to what Keith at JKM found.

You can put the boost up as far as you like as there isn't any harm if the turbo can't make the requested boost levels, you'll just make it work harder. The downside is that with more boost you'll probably want more fuel which is where an uprate pump helps to stop fuel cuts.

If you don't have an uprated HPFP then keep F@9 as the standard pump tends not to be able to keep up the requested rail pressure at mid rpm if set to lower than F9.

Without traction power is nothing!

....Making the turbo work harder - Hmm, been there and done that (boost requests in the 90%'s) and not keen to repeat. More fuel and therefore an upgraded fuel pump - Hmm, and on it goes down that slippery slope

....Good to know that Fuel should be kept at 9 for an oem FP :happy2:

Hi All,

We have had a request to move the date to April time either Sat 18th or 25th. This will hopefully bring better warmer weather and also will spread out events on the forum calender.

This is still a feeler at this stage and a new thread will go up in February for you all to add your names to.

Many Thanks and have a good weekend all

Is that why your turbo broke?  It was a cracked wastegate I think...  I'm going in for Revo Stage 2+ on Wednesday, although with moderate settings.  I don't plan to use all that power too often - only when I need it occasionally     I hope my turbo doesn't go bang

I have to agree there Robin... I drove my Mk2 16v to Hook (Hampshire) yesterday and while its only got 139bhp compared to the 320bhp I am used to on the Ed30, it actually seemed just as much fun to drive if not more   :happy2:

AutoExpress voted the Mk2 GTI the best of all and Mk5 second.

Btw, yesterday I photographed a lump of metal (finely engineered) which has your name on it

At the time Quaife delivered the wrong one which then screwed up the planned schedule because there was urgent racing car work. The actual install takes up the best part of a day IIRC but Mark will advise you more precisely.

I'll post a pic in the Quaife Review thread.

Sadly I don't think I'll be able to make April 18th or 25th but I think you're all big boys and can manage without me holding anyone's hand   :rolleye:

....We're both slightly wrong!

Boost Requests are expressed in millbars and not % (my mistake).

I should have written that it was my Wastegate Duty Cycle which was running in the 90%'s while I had the leak (not "normal"!) and it's now back in the 70%'s with Boost 6, so has plenty of 'headroom'.

If I reset to Boost 7, my max bhp is likely to rise and also torque range, BUT: my K03 won't continue pulling as strongly as she currently does at higher revs - Which I find useful as I use the gears a lot.

So, I'm going to keep my car balanced as she currently is.

....Not really, cos she'll re-post when the new date is known. And my car's Revo settings are all done at JKM.

It's OK I don't mind

I can appreciate April is a way off so as Robin said I will put another thread up towards the end of February with the known date.

Feel Free to chat away  :happy2:
