So you don't have to wear a helmet unless you run over 110 mph?

So take it I can do one run, if its over 110mph then I would have to wear a helmet next time?

I think ill make 110

Just checked out the figures, the fastest and quickest time recorded (and advertised) for a 2.0T FSI DSG FWD car is 12.74 @ 114MPH

That was a GT3071R MK5 GTI with roughly 400 crank HP..

Would be awesome to be quicker than that, but im pretty sure he was on drag slicks, so not much chance haha..

Think ill leave my helmet at home  :happy2:

Just as the day is going to be so busy I wanted to make sure I could do a run as they must limit how many people per day can get signed on to run on the strip..

The entry on the gate is no probs, but you get that with the sign on fee when you pay online as I have

The helmet bit was what I was worried about.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

is it best you register on the pod running list that the Hosts run . Hurdy is the best person to link you too it, so you have your quarter mile Car number. i cant remember which post he put it on here, but i registered Phylis, and have my race Car number.

I think its going to be so hard to get to go down the strip the ideal match as listed, you could
que all the way down, then get near to the start line and it all goes t1ts up.

Just got to keep your print outs as proof  :happy2:

You will be fine if you do your first run and hit over 110mph just make sure you wear your helmet for your other runs. Bring a helmet just incase mate :happy2:
You can hire them there too iirc.

I think if you keep the print out's that would be the best way.. Can just post up your best time at the end of the day then and we can all compare.. :happy2:

I so hope that a MK5 GTI is the fastest FWD road legal car there on the day!

As Steve has said.. Just register on here and your best time will be automatically saved on the site along with a pic of your car. I registered last year in Oct when I went and it saved my best run of the day (1st one).. This way we can see how everyone got on (and they'll be no cheating )

What, old as in the original paper type licence, or the paper part of the photo card type licence?
If it's the old type licence (pink one) then you'll be fine mate. If it's just the paper part of the photo card then you may struggle. best thing you can do mate is to ring them and explain and they may be ok..
