Tyre Grip/Slip

After a hectic day, headed back home in rush hour traffic. Ended up following some pickup truck with a little trailer. Dunno what they were carrying but stuff was leaking from the back of it. Did my best to avoid the spill on the road but I think my tyres picked something up.

Had to try and floor it onto the roundabout (this is in Brum) and TC just cut in all the way until I was off the roundabout. Even cut in later when flooring it in 4th.

Haven't had a chance to inspect the tyres but assuming there's something on them (it's unlikely to be the weather given it was 6*C here and I've driven harder and faster round bends at 3*C), is there any way I can get it off?

If not, how long till it comes off? I'm heading back to B'mouth tomorrow. Can't be doing with slippy wheels on sliproads/overtaking.

I'd get a light and firstly inspect, then run your hands around the tyre to see if you can feel anything, if there is something on there it should come off fairly quickly if not you could always practice your starts with the TC off!  :wink:

Yeah , as per Nathan check for a problem first either with tyres or suspension. check the pressures too.
But its probably just diesel, TC off and gun it lol

Lol after what happened today, I was tempted to keep TC off but given the slippage, decided it was a bad idea in case I skidded. Again.

Will have a look when the car gets parked.
