ITG Maxogen - Filter cleaning

At what Mileage / interval do people clean the filter element of the ITG?

After an attempt at logging it wasnt flowing near what other KO4 cars are with the same setup.
Wondering if it is due a good clean?

What method is best?

Last time i spoke to ITG they were developing a cleaning fluid for the filters, but andy said they need doing every 10k miles

I read something about using petrol to clean them??  ( I think? lol)

Yeah thats right mike, it helps get the oil out of the filter easily

Mike, I cleaned mine last weekend with petrol and warm soapy water, i was amazed at the amount of muck that came out of it!

forgive my stupidness chaps, but after cleaning did you guys oil the filter as i seem to remember a while back that, its not a good idea to oil them.

Ok cheers Gaz, wasn't there a fuss over this a while back though, i seem to remember people wiping of the excess, when buying a filter.

mike yours shouldnt need a clean after only being on the car a few months.   granted it cant hurt giving it a clean though.  i reckon you definately need APR to tweak your map.  you have strange specified boost, and a decat fitted, so quite alot could be out of sync.  hat would be my first port of call.  whens the last time you had it dyno'd??

yeh that was the panel filters that turned up really oily on delivery, was a good move to wipe the excess off before fitting

How would you go about cleaning an evoms cone filter? Could i use the K&N cleaning kit?

Hasnt been dyno'd since it was stage 1, carbonio, TBE.  Cant imagine APR being able to do much for me, being a generic map.

I'll do those logs on the APR site and e-mail them.  Think its time for a change though.

its not a generic map as per a bluefin handset though surely. it is a generic map that will be set up by the APR tuners surely to suit an individual car.  they must be able to adjust things like revo do.

Havent rung them yet.  Didn't want to ring saying I wasnt happy when I dont understand what the problem is.  All I know is it doesnt feel as quick as it ought to 

Im sure awesome just burn a generic map to each car and say 'it will self adapt'  Ill find out on Monday...

I have more or less same setup as you and could possibly do some comparison log's.

What sort of g/s do you achieve?
