I introduce myself and my GTI already here:
http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=671.msg9538#msg9538Altought I'll done it here again just for the car :)
I own the car for 6 months now and i done 20.000km (12.500miles) and is really fun to drive. I went on long tours around Europe and is fantastic car to drive for long relations altought that have a little bit hard suspension and sporting seats. I never come tyred to the end of destination even if was driving for 10 or more hours. The best road is Autobahn but in the night when is free of traffic. Than you can feel what this car can really do on the straight line. One set of tyres I left on the ground on Austrian and Slovenian mountain roads, where is just ammazing. Small speed and G forces in your neck so bed that you can feel it next day. However I am Motorcycle journalist and I am testing bikes all the time in in case that I must compare it with my car I can only say that this car is Fu... crazy and I drove a lot of cars. You can have really small fuel consumption in case that you are driving in "normal mode"
and really huge one
Max kilometers with one fuel tank that i done was 560 (348 miles) and the worse was just for 320 km (199 miles). If I compare this to my old mk4 which I owned with a little it less HP is just amazing.
The standard equipment in car is almost everything but xenon and hand rest in the middle console. I don't why and how this kind of combination happened to the previous owner, just did :) Altought I have seat heater, steering wheel radio controls and stuff like that... and of course is DSG version.
Winter and summer tyres on 17" for now and maybe in the summer I'll change for 18, just that I am not shore cause driving and cornering could be little bit harder on those and I have car for multiple purposes not just for watching
Some of you try 17" and 18" and maybe can tell the difference in driving and handling?
I put in the car Kenwwod DNX 5220BT
http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=710.0 which is amazing thing. Build in Garmin GPS, hand free Parrot, DVD... It is nice thing to have and watch on long highway trips.
And the second thing that I put in is GPS tracker, that how I always know where the car is.
Than is just some small things. The rear bumper paint in the white and the small radio antenna.
Now I just came back form France where we were skiing and with winter Good Year tyres car handled on the snow really good. I expected that may not done saw well because of tyre size 225 but it did fantastic job.
Sorry for my English and long text
