....Just one dusky maiden would be satisfying!

Robin, you don't want to drink that Spatenbrau stuff, there's a reason it has a shovel as the logo  :scared: headache stuff that.  Want you need is a nice Augustiner or Lowenbrau.  Got three days of it booked at the end of september  :drinking:

I was going to try and keep this thread on topic but you started it.

If you are going to Munich and visiting the Oktoberfest then you should only be drinking Augustiner Edelstoff.
Having said that all the breweries produce Oktoberfest specials which are very palatable.

If you are there on the middle weekend then checkout the Oktoberfest Sevens run by Munich Rugby FC, my old team.

Lived there for some time

Love Munich, love Germany. We go somewhere in Germany every Christmas for a long weekend. I think abandoning the UK at some point would see us getting a place in Bavaria to go along with the gaff in the South of France in a summer/winter combo.

The Ayingers brewery has a lovely bar adjacent to the Hoffbrau Haus. They tap a keg of fresh beer around 5pm every day and it is the nicest tasting stuff I have ever had in my life.

Nom.

I love Munich too. And Bavaria as a whole. Easy access to Italy which I love even more.

Once upon a time we did the Summer/Winter combo of Greece/Lake Geneva. You can always visit or even come back to the UK.

Ooops! We're so waaaay off topic! I was just about to post a fave pic of Munich.. Oh, what the heck.. Just one!

Karlsplatz. Just down from the strange place with booths that are tiled, get mopped out  regularly and apparently show films of some sort or the other.

You're not far from the Augustiner Keller there.

My first tour in Munich I lived right at the bottom of Schwabing.
So Sunday mornings were breakfast at Gunther Murphys in Schwabing followed by a leisurely stroll through the Englisch Garten to the Seehaus then back for copious beers and nosebag at the Chinesischer turm.

Good times. :drinking:

Like roast pork knuckle?

We usually stay up near the Uni, so would skip through and walk down through the Englisch Garten into the city the long way.
