M18 Spline - Who sells them?
« on: June 07, 2010, 04:58:13 pm »
Hi All
literally spent half a day on the phone and half a day running round trying to buy one.

Does anyone know where to buy one to fit my 1/2" socket set.

Best I have come up with is a loan socket, but the guy has offered to fit the bearing for £25.

So fed up with the search, can't believe they are sooooooo difficult to buy.
No Golf anymore.
Enjoyed the last five years of ownership of Mk5 & 6 GTIs.
Plus an excellent forum for knowledge and new ways to deplete the bank account.
Thank You Everyone.

Reckon the above is your best bet if your wanting to do it yourself. You may find one a couple of quid cheaper here and there but splined sockets aren't cheap in the slightest.
If you have to ask why, you'll never understand.

Not too sure what a impact socket is :-(

I was going to take the bearing off to measure.
Don't know if it's 30 or 32mm :-(

For the splines I use a Draper Professional kit which can be bought for around £30 - £40.  Mine is from a company called Lawson HIS.
