I think I might be better off with a PAYG as my current tarriff is £15 pm.

So assuming I'd need a £45 or more tarriff (for at least 18 months) to get the iPhone free than that's an increase of at least £30 per month and £540 over the 18 or £720 over the 24.  Always leaving me free to give them the bird at any time I wish.

As mentioned earlier, I was told that O2 will not insure PAYG handsets when used with Pay Monthly Sim's because call charges are not covered in the PAYG insurance policy.

Not in the slightest bit bothered to be honest mate.  Plenty of places to get phone insurance if you want it, I have mine with my house insurance.  O2 don't have the monopoly on insurance and my line is with Vodafone.

Same here I have my phone insured through my bank. Damn site cheaper than the £15 a month O2 wanted ( just wish I had done it before I dropped the 3G and broke it  :sad1:)

If anyone had a earlier iphone going spare i will at least match what o2 etc offer.

Ideally with a little warranty and unlocked or vodafone but open to suggestions  :happy2:

I reckon I'm going to bail on my iPhone now while it's still worth something.

Anyone know if an O2 iPhone SIM will work in any phone?

With the data allowances are they cellular data amounts, i.e. using 3g to view web, facebook & emails etc.
Using wifi to stream iplayer wouldn’t be included surely?

No, WiFi has always been unlimited, it's just 3G usage.

Looking at my total cellular data usage it is only 933Mb, and that's in two years. So 500 Mb is going to be more than adequate.

Using wifi wont count towards your usage.  I used a 500mb data bolt on with my 3G and always managed.  When using tvcatchup or iplayer i ussually had wifi access...

I just sold my 3G on Mazuma for £183. I reckon they're really going to plummet in value.

This is exactly the same as AT&T. They have just announced restricted usage plans on 3G data as well.

Wonder what the Voda tarrifs will offer then as they seem to list 1024mb for their standard data package.
I've been with O-Poo for 9yrs now and want the Desire and they've been crap for me so im gonna try out Voda.

Fingers crossed they're not as poo as O-Poo have been lol

I was gonna use this place to trade my old phones in. They seem to offer a good price plus if you can use the vouchers then you can get even more...

http://www.mobilephonexchange.co.uk

32GB 3GS is currently £287 with vouchers for Debenhams - easily spent in there IMO

500MB is a little harsh to say its come from being unlimited.

750MB or 1GB would be a fairer.
