Accessing the forum on your mobiles...
« on: June 08, 2010, 10:25:35 pm »
Do you chaps access the forum happily from your phones either on 3G or GPRS?

I've got an LG Renoir which has a 3G connection when the signal and connection allows, but when I've tested the site it simply loads in plain text and looks awful.

I've tested it on an iPhone and it works a treat, looks exactly as it does in FireFox on a Win Xp//Vista/7 machine which is impressive.

So the question is, what phone do you use and does the site display as expected?

This will source the hunt for a new phone :happy2:  :indifferent: An iPhone is simply off of the list however, as I'm tied to a contract currently and they're stupidly expensive on sim free.
Thanks.
Pete

most phones will show you a text version of the site, in the settings you will be able to set your browser to show the full site and not the mobile version.

iPhone 3Gs - site loads normally and looks just like it does when using it on a PC. No problems here.

On my HD2 it loads up fine in both opera and IE, but opera doesnt support the ability to reply to posts, but IE does.

The reply page always used to hang.... but now it doesnt!  odd, its been awhile since I last tried it as i assumed it was a codec or flash issue and it works in IE but the browser itself is cr4p.  Anyway cheer Maxitrol

On iPhone you can get a tapatalk app, which displays posts and pictures.  It's a litle temprimental though.
