days off.... Id rather be in work!
« on: June 10, 2010, 02:47:48 pm »
I get 1 day off a week, always on a weekday while mates are all in work so I sit around the house thinking of things to do, but always end up watching a film or browsing the net. I think I may be a workaholic. anyone else get this?

I know exactly what you mean, esp when you get weekdays off. Nothing to do but bum around or spend money which you wouldnt have spent if you were at work.
I'd much rather work as well so you're not alone.

I'm now a Mon-Fri 9-5 guy so its easier to have things to do, but i'd prob work some of the weekends too given the choice for some extra pennies, esp as the weather always sucks in this country !!!

You only get 1 day off a week?? Man that sucks!  I get a day off in the week and one day off on the weekend i find it quite usefull as the day off i get in the week i get everything that needs to get done sorted as everywhere is open, then the day on the weekend i chill :drinking: Also its rather wicked to get a day off in the week as when i go surfing im usually the only person in the water :jumpmove:

But i can see where your coming from though

Not when you spend all day working as an ECU mapper, get the car on the dyno, earphones on, the hours fly by....

Great stuff.

I think I'm the same. If there's a day off here and there, I get bugger all done. If I have 2-3 days off, then I'll try and get something useful done.

Though at the moment, all I've been doing on my days off is play Red Dead Redemption, watch TV and sleep.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

I know one day isn't alot but i couldn't sit around thinking of things to do.

Pick up a paint brush, decorate, go for a walk, cut the grass, polish the car........anything.

Thats the problem, as its your livelyhood you end up working more hours in the long run but as you say nice to be able to take time off and the odd hour here and there when needed without having to answer to anyone.
