0-60 times
« on: June 13, 2010, 03:17:31 pm »
just wondering what your 0-60 times were from differant stages of tune

Ive currently went from 7.2 secs standard to 6.4 with the remap and cat back although this was timed with propper rubbish tyres so im expecting at least 0.3 of a second of that with tyres only, ill do another run next week with the addition of the HPFP and Intake to see the differance they make, and then the turbo back exhaust section, ideally im looking for repeatable 0-60 in the 5s, which i think should be pretty atainable

just wondering what times you guys were 0-60 or 0-100 ? and the mods tyre choices you are running,

(i wont be fitting track tyres)

AT GTI International in 2007 my car did a 0-60 in 5.66 seconds without ANY modifications - just DSG and launch control.
My first trip at the Pod again standard saw 14.32 seconds at a terminal of 101mph - so about 14.2 to 100mph

I'm now at 0-60 in 4.6 seconds and 0-100mph in 9.9 seconds at stage 2+ REVO and Stage 2 DSG remap plus lots of bolt-ons.

By GTI International I'd think the 9.9 second 0-100mph would come down substantially
Golf R gone.

Revo Stage 2, Milltek TBE and ITG Panel filter saw mine do a 5.06 0-60 and 11.1 0-100mph (timed with Racelogic V-Box).
Like John, I expect theses times to fall a fair bit once intake, pump and Stage 2+ goes on next week..

ive got figures in mind that i want to get to then stop modding 300lbft 275bhp 0-60 sub 6 seconds and sub 15 sec 1/4 mile i think they are pretty realistic

yea ive got the performance box, can they do 1/4 mile too ? i cant find the function

Hurdy  :pomppomp:,  I'm not being weird here at all but how can a stock GTI dsg do 60 in virtually 5.5 secs ?  Arent stock ED30's around 6.6 - 6.8 secs ?  :surprised:  Am I missing something here  ?

Mine is an ED30 manual of Stage 1 'type' tune, no exhausts, filters etc.  No idea of the 0-60 though.  I took a mate out last week and he said it was ballistic   :jumping:!!
Had: Edition 30, 3 Door Manual, Pearl Black, Cruise Control, IPod Prep, Arm Rest, Auto Lights and Wipers

My times were done at Pod, John's standard times were at Brunters and his V-Box times were done on a hill in Sheffield somewhere...  :booty: :signLOL:

1/4 mile times are best done at somewhere like Pod mate IMO. A lot more accurate..
As for your estimates on 1/4 mile times for 275bhp, you're way out!!! You want to be doing sub 14's, not sub 15's..
Decent rubber is always going to help. How many 1/10ths you'll knock off is hard to say though. If you want the best results then a set of 888's are meant to be pretty good..

Vw Singapore released a basically stage 1 ko3 gti which they claimed 0-60 as 5.6 secs with 246bhp. Also 161mph top speed

i dont think 5.6 is unachievable if you launch it perfect.  so much time is lost with wheel spin on them

its a manual K03 i have, so i dont think ill be getting sub 14s, im sure the best time on the leader board is 14.2, but that would be good if i could, i quite fancy the 888s but im not sure how they would be on the road ?

Sure White GTI is a manual and he's done a 14.0 IIRC. I did a 14.0 (about 9 times  :fighting:) in my old 260bhp LCR, so a 275bhp GTI with the right driver should be able to do 13's IMO..

wheel spin is just ridiculous. least on the tyres i have.
fronts are wearing down so may push that a bit then replace all four.
but to what!! hummm

i think i did around a 5-6sec when the car was fairly new. now with stage2 revo, tbe, springs (to help the spin) should make sure its in the low 5s. but again te wheel spin ruining everything

SOLD!! :(
