Good spot Gene, sadly for me the previous owner put those Sunew tyres on when they changed the car. :fighting:

At least the back tyres are Conti's!

The Sunew tyres are absolutely the worst tyres I have ever come across in my life, zero grip in the wet - and I mean zero grip!. As soon as I touch the throttle she just understeers massively - quite bloody dangerous really!

Got whipped by a blumin' Freelander (for God sake!) on a roundabout in the rain a few months ago - thats how bad they are!

Anyway doing my best to wear them out and then put Four new boots on! :happy2:

Short list:
Eagle F1 Asymmetrics (run these on our other car A4 S-Line Quattro Avant and they are spot on)
Michelin Pilot sport 2  or 3's
or Kumho Ecsta's (Good grip for the money)

Oh and bye the way - keep it quiet about the Freelander.... Please!!!! :signLOL:

Hi looks great.  What did you use on the exhaust.  Or is it just brand new.

Ta Gene, have had a look on t'internet at the Vred's and they look a cracking tyre - they could be the one's to go for when I change them! :happy2:

And S4LEK, I had a proper go on the zorst a few months back as it was proper caked in black soot and a bit of minor corrosion.

So basically I got my Dremel out with the little grinding wheel and took it back to the metal, then coarse wire wool to start reducing the scratches, followed by some wet emery to really take it back to a clean finish. Then finally a good polish with Autosol.

All in all took about an hour or two.

Now all I do is give 'em a quick wipe over and maybe a quick rub with the Autosol and they are back to spot-on in 5mins max!

Hope that helps :happy2:

Simply stunning. How long's it take to do from start to finish?

All in all it took about 10 hours from start to finish over a couple of days ( give or take a few sarnies and half a dozen mugs of tea!).

Got up to polishing it on the 1st day, and then finished it off on the following day!

sadly it still only took 48hrs for some Nazi blummin Seagull to pebble dash the bonnet!!! :fighting:

Might be worth seeing if we can do a group buy on some air rifles!

Probably won't solve the problem, but sure make me feel a lot better!!!

Of course, there is that great urban myth; feeding alka selzer to seagulls causes them to explode...

But lets not debate whether or not it can happen here, don't want to hi-jack a top detailing thread.

Anyone for a seagull test thread... :happy2:
