Might be mine: Just over 85k miles since August 2005 and I've enjoyed every single mile and hope for many more.

Is there any particular reason you want to know?

One of the blokes I work with new company car arrived, and I had to contact the old lease company to collect the old car.

They needed to know what mileage he had done to adjust the cost on miles over agreement.

I had to get a second opinion when I saw it had done 276,000 MILES!!....I thought I was reading it wrong.

I just wondered if a GTI was capable of doing that mileage?

If your interested it was a 55 plate Honda Accord that had been to the moon and back.

Hondas do last forever. My 05 plate GTI is on about 74k and it don't think it'll do another 74k if the truth be told. The mk5 is just not a well made car. Too many of them with the steering rack and subframe problems for my liking. I spend a fortune on my car in terms of maintenance and servicing trying to keep it as good as I can, but iot's a lossing battle as far as I'm concerned.

In contrast, I also have a mk4 1.6 Golf Match with  about 80k on it that drives like new! Anyone interested in buying it?  :happy2:

My 2nd car was a Vauxhall cavalier 1.4L that I sold with 170k on the clock. It got a bigger engine and still going strong 5 years later with WELL over 200l miles on it. Never missed a beat apart from needing a new clutch at 166k

Garth.....Sub frame problems??? All cars require Maintenance & Servicing...

Do you mean the cost of this or are you not happy with the car in general...

I must admit I think the MK5 is quite well put together..... however I have only had the car a few weeks.

Time will tell...It's still concerning with all your care & money you spend on the car that you don't think it will cover another 75k  :surprised:
