Can't wait for the better pics Pete  :happy2:  I bet its gonna look awesome mate.  :congrats:

Thanks fella. I'm very happy with it  :happy2:
The cars coming on nicely Pete  :happy2:

Do you by any chance have the part number for the headlight switch you have in this picture?

is this switch straight plug and play sort of thing? and are designed for car with Xenons with "Auto" settings labeled on it (on my phone so cant see if it is or not)

Cheers

Sunny

Did a thread on it dude, try here:  :happy2: Should be all the info you need.

Went out just now with the new camera and took some shots. Car isn't massively clean, but Grey never really looks dirty  :wink:
Not many pics as the phone internal memory doesn't hold much at all. SD cards are now ordered  :grin: More to come then...
I think it's still got a bit of settling to do, perhaps another 5mm or so at the back?

Looking good, doesnt look like flat ground so the rear left suspension is stretched, the right hand side of the car looks more like it should although possibly a little compressed. The spacers have bought the rears out as they should be they now look in line with the fronts!  :drool:

Love it Pete!!!  :smiley:

Looks real good.  Suspension is spot on mate, and I am sure it will perform loads better.

Spacers make such a difference too I bet.  :wink:

I love the contrast of silver and black against the Grey.

I really wanted a Steel Grey GTi when I was first on the hunt for one. I am happy with the Reflex Silver now, but every time I see the Grey, I love the colour.  :happy2:

Also,
Did you do the Passat window switches as well as the light switch mate?  If so what is the part number for the drivers side pair of switches?  I asked on the other thread, but there were quite a few numbers being thrown about, and it was a bit confusing about who was replying to who  :ashamed:
Don't want to order the wrong ones.

Thanks geezer ^  :happy2:

I bet Silver is quite comfortable to maintain scratch/dirt wise too?

I didn't I'm afraid, regarding the window switches. I purely went for the OEM Xenon look in the cabin as I retrofitted my Xenons and wanted the whole genuine appearance. Re-quote your original post mate if I were you - someone experienced will point you in the right direction I'm sure.

A few better shots here - gives you more of an idea of how the spacers and suspension have enhanced the cars profile;

Looking good Pete, the rears are sitting nice and flush and the gap is massively improved.  Will look forward to seeing the car in the flesh on Sunday.

^ Thanks Rich & Monte  :happy2:

I'm happy with the results although being greedy, I would love the rear to drop another couple of mm  :wink:

The cars now booked in for the rear bumper to be smoothed + sprayed grey. I might wrap the black lower section (around the exhaust) or buff it up so it shows up well in black to give that diffuser look. Also, the skirts will be smoothed + sprayed Steel grey.

Fitted the Carbonio;

I was unfortunately under the impression it would change the sound, then I learnt about going through the engine cover pipe etc and so on, but I think it'll stay as I'd say it's improved MPG by around 1.5/2.0MPG over a medium to long journey.
I can't feel any difference in response or the torque delivery of any kind, so I think all the fellas who say it doesn't do anything are probably spot on  :happy2:

Looks good though  :party:

Bit of dirty whoring:

The right sidelight is captured nicely here. They look great at night if parked up for example, but they're not quite strong enough in the day to be reliable DRLs. I've given in on trying to find OEM/aftermarket DRL's. I've not got the 30byte controller so OEM DRL function is limited, and none of the aftermarket stuff would suit my colour scheme or style theme. I'll stick to Xenons  :smiley:

The colour coding is to come as mentioned. I think some winter wheels may be on the cards while the Splits are refurbed.
Warranty renewal just in time for Winter too!

Cheers for looking.
Pete

Please tell me you aren't smoothing out the number plate position  :stupid:

Nooooooooooo!

As in smooth the plastic so it's a proper finish. I.E. NOT painting on the bobbled surface  :happy2:
My mods couldn't be more subtle Stu, like I'd be into smoothing?!  :grin:

Phew.  :notworthy:

I thought that would be the case but sadly I have this image of a Nasty Nova with a smoothed tailgate and crappy square number plate dragging on the floor underneath.

Edit -

:signLOL: As you can see, brash mods are certainly not me  :innocent:

After seeing guys that colour coded their standard rear GTI bumpers with the black plastic surrounding the exhaust, I always felt it should've left the factory like that. Audi did it with the 8P2 S-line A3's and it suits them very well too  :happy2:

Small update. Tried the turn signal DRL's to see what they look like on the Xenon clusters. They're nice a bright, that's for sure - this was confirmed when I was stopped at a junction and I could see the yellow beam on the car infronts rear bumper. They were only set to 85% as well.

I decided they're not for me though as they have to be activated manually, on the sidelight switch. I think they'd probably look a bit better on the Halogen clusters too in all honesty.

They didn't give me the unique DRL look like the later Audi's have, so they've been de-activated.
Another plus of Steel Grey, although it takes a real effort to make it look clean, it never looks particularly dirty at the same time. That's not been washed for 3 weeks and I think you'll agree it doesn't show it  :happy2:

I've noticed that my Splits look increasingly like the TDI and TSI GT 17" wheels so I think it's time for something a little more unique to my car and it's styling. I love the design of the splits, but they are a little too subtle and executive. If they were 19"s, I might have been able to pull it off, so expect some new wheels just in time for the really cold weather perhaps  :wink:

Picked the car up tonight. Rear bumper colour coded in Grey leaving the black diffuser and skirts done Grey too, all with the smooth finish;

Best I could do in the dark. More to follow once it's been cleaned.

Turinis are going on soon as well as wrapping the boot VW badge.
I'll then look at stage 1 options and a Dbilas intake and I think it'll be nearly finished  :smiley:

Cheers for looking.
