They are definately a looker Gaz, there is no doubt. But they are more show than go in my opinion (not that they're exactly slow of course  )

I went to the launch of the A5 at my local Audi dealer a couple of years ago. I hate to say this but the 3.0 TDI felt considerably quicker than the S5.

they do 60 in less than 6 secs and 155mph, so not suprising they feel quick, not bad for a big fat oil burner

Thank god for that! Everyone i told thought i was mad!  
I went on the A5 launch for a day at Adlington hall as a sweetener for some trouble i had with my A3, got to take out both the S5 and 3.0TDi seperately on 1 hour test routes, V8 sounded nice but the TDi felt the quicker car by far!

Autocar have tested the new A8 4.2 TDI this week and it is officially the fastest diesel car they have ever tested (0-60 in 5.0 and 0-100 in 13.0)  Not bad for a 2 tonne limo..

I drove a Q7 4.2 V8 TDI at the same launch. My god did it tramp on but 18mpg

I've always had a thing for the 3.0TDi after driving it on the launch, ticks so many of my requirements and doesnt sound too shabby with a milly fitted either!
