I've heard very good things about them and visited them to have a nosey last week - seemed to be very nice guys and I got a good feeling about the place (I've used independent specialists for years for my previous cars (Subaru)).  I'll be using them for my cambelt (plus waterpump, etc) change next month.

If you're around the Glasgow area then it's worth a visit to them just to get an idea of pricing and the sort of place it is.

I have used them and can recommend however recreantly i noticed their pricing was more even than main dealer.

E.g interval service, a4a = £140 plus VAT and main dealer = £136 Inc vat and ll oil.

Brake discs and pads at pronto, pads at rear a4a = £250 plus VAT and main dealer £223 Inc vat.

But it's not all about price all the time, give them a visit and see yourself.

Ouch!  I'll double check the quote before I book mine in.

I noticed last year that my stealer (Aberdeen based) was cheaper than the indy's for servicing and the same it true again this year.  However when I asked them to quote for specific repairs the indys were much cheaper.  I think servicing is done cheap to lure you back for repairs etc ...

To be honest, I travel further to got to those guys because for ad hoc repairs and doing multiple jobs at once, they are much cheaper than VW.

I haven't had a standard service done there - because I like the VW stamp in the book - so I can't comment on how it matches up on price, but my T&D service last summer was ~£120, using LL oil...

FYI, I got this through the post on Friday... http://www.a4audi.co.uk/loyalty-card.html

Was jsut about to start a new thread when I spotted this one. My post is down below, anything changed in the past few years with regards to a4audi?

On the hunt for a bit of local knowledge here... I've put a deposit down on a private sale MK 5 GTI in Glasgow and will be collecting it in a couple of weeks. It's gone to Arnold Clark for all it's life and it's due a service, water pump, cambelt etc so I was going to get that done before making the trek down to Norfolk and I'd rather someone who knew FSI engines well got their hands on/in it. Anyone know of a good specialist near enough to Glasgow or Edinburgh. Google obviously digs up a few VAG specialists but would be good to get a few recommendations. Failing that, anyone know some good ones heading further South?

Cheers

I have used a4audi for the last year and a bit and they are pretty good. I've noticed the price is mental now compared to when i first went. As someone said above its more like vw/audi prices. But they are quick at what they do.

Another place i haven't yet been to, but is next place am going to use after many people recommended me.

Auto-tec performance in port glasgow. Their a revo dealer aswell.

@howie1987 No reply from them and it's been 10 days. Maybe they don't want to do a written quote as some places say they'll match any written quote within X amount of miles. Either that are they're just not arsed...

Probably best to give them a phone but they are always updating their pics etc so surely would see the messages.
