picking up new car wednesday - any advice?
« on: June 20, 2010, 11:17:24 am »
Hello folks, I've finally found a nice priced edition 30 that I've put a deposit down on, so I'm off down the country on wednesday to pick it up. I was just wondering if there was anything I need to be looking out for on a mk5? I've had my mk4 for 5 years now, but am not familiar with the mk5s.
Also which company is best to go to for remaps, I've had revo before, so tempted to go back to them?
And secondly, which is the best rcd 510 to go for, as there seems to be so many different types out there?
Thanks in advance for any replies :happy2:

I found it by scouring pistonheads, ebay and autotrader every few hours for months
Might not be that brilliant! havent seen it in the flesh yet, first time I see it will be when I turn up with the cash! seems of, sounds like it might have been a repossession, so they just want what it is owed to them, finance is cleared and isnt a cat- d, so hopefully it will be ok.

:surprised:   Staggered by that price.....  :surprised:

If that's got nothing but some minor chips, scratches, kerbing, etc., that's an absolute bargain.

Also, if you are interested in the Edition 30 Milltek exhaust system with custom black pipes, check out the link for a possible GB:

They're getting the stone chips sorted this weekend, and refurbing the kerbed alloys for me aswell :jumpmove:
I would have got the exhaust, but I've promised myself this time I'm sticking to a remap and a headunit!
I've spent about £10,000 in bits on my mk4, and will be lucky to get £6000 for the car as it stands.
See how I go with resisting to mod it too much :scared:

I think you should go for the Milltek if you are getting the remap, gets it readyf or further BHP then!  :happy2:

So you managed to get almost £3000 off the asking price!!!   :jumping:

Did the salesman chuck in the shirt he was wearing?

Top haggling...that's the way to do it.
