Communications Error with Select Plus
« on: June 22, 2010, 08:26:51 pm »
Got my switch module and am trying to Aquire settings from the ECU and it just gives me a Comms or Protocal error.
Switch is set to 0 and i've followed the doc that came with the switch to the letter but it wont aquire ECU settings.

Im perfectly able to change switch settings and (i assume) apply to the ECU just fine as it does the beeps as you'd expect but it  just wont aquire whats in use to confirm settings.

Any ideas peeps?

That's strange. You have got the ignition on (engine off) haven't you?

Have you tried a diff USB cable to see if it's a dodgy cable?

What year is your car?

I have heard of this problem before with a certain MY of car.  The settings do get written but you just cannot acquire them.

Yeah ignition on with engine off.

Its an 07 car.
I can turn the anti theft on and off just fine so i assume the settings are changing as they should but it just wont aquire anything from the ECU

Havent tried another USB cable but assumed it to be ok as i can do other things with it
