HPI Check
« on: June 25, 2010, 01:36:17 pm »
Hey folks,

Where does everyone recommend getting an HPI check done? I am looking at a car tommorow, and it's £20 for a check but thougth i'd seen a few for £5 but didn't know if there were any good in comparison?

Many thanks,

Sean

Look at the car first and then spend the money if you're serious about buying it - ask the seller about it's history and money owing, if it sounds iffy, then that'll tell you more than a HPI ever will.
Sideways yo!

It comes with full HPI certificate just I would prefer to do my own as well - just wondered if the £5 ones are any good over spending £20? (which could pay for the tea and snacks for us on the way there and back lol)

Most HPI services are tiered services so check what level of 'checks' are being made as part of the service you are paying for - look at using HPI ltd. http://www.hpicheck.com

Also don't just rely on the HPI as a way of thinking the car has never been in a serious accident. Often it's not recorded so keep your wits about you.
