Hey all,
Been poking around for a couple of days as I was reading a sweet build thread, and so thought I would say hello even though I'm not a mk5 or even a real VW owner anymore

Bit about myself..
So I have had 2 golf's, not mk5's though but had a 1.6 Driver mk2 (at 17) as my first car, got it for £300 and all I did was have problems with the carb and lower it 60mm

Then for my second car (at 18) I got a mk3 16v gti brought from a guy on edition 38. Was already pretty modified, so all I really did was change the wheels on it. Coilovers were knackered so couldnt drop it more, but as I did 20k between january and october in it, It wouldnt really have been a good idea to go any lower!

Now I currently have a 2004 Audi A3 2.0tdi (at 19), which I brought last October. Initially, I wasnt going to do anything to it, and as I do quite a lot of miles It was going to stay standard. But going for a 170bhp petrol to a 140bhp slow & heavy diesel, I very quickly got bored of it, and finally got round to putting coilovers on around a month and a half a go. I would love to do more to it, but insurance is too expensive (less than the two previous cars though) and running costs (servicing/diesel/tyres) all mean that I don't have a lot of spare cash to throw at the car, so it will be slow progress really. Got a puncture today so would love to find some dirt cheap wheels to throw on, but otherwise I will probably leave it as it is for a while then put some replica's on.
Anyway, thats pretty much it! Heres a few pics of the cars for the hell of it:
Mk2 - not really sure what I was doing

Then went to this:

Mk3 - brought with the merc wheels, the BBS Solitudes went on for a couple of weeks until inters where I swapped them on the way back for the Keskins

Inters '09:

Keskins, 7.5" front, 9" rear in Satin black

Then Finally, the Audi

(new one was before coilovers)

Being just the base 'SE' model, it was stupidly high, so even though its on coilover's, I have only wound them down to slightly lower than standard S line suspension. I need it to be practical unfortunatly so haven't been too over adventurous! Only other things done are service stuff like cambelt and brakes being changed, and I vinyl wrapped over the grandad spec wooden trim inside!
I regret selling the Mk3 so much, I should have attempted a diesel engine swap really!
Thanks for reading :)
