damn insurance!
« on: January 24, 2009, 07:20:34 pm »
Im currently trying to justify paying £1850 insurance on a 54' plate 2.0 GT TDI...thats with both parents on the policy so looks as cheap as im going to get (been on the comparison web sites believe me)

Iv got a really good deal lined up for the 2.0TDI (3dr black ) which i dont want to pass on otherwise it will have to be a 1.9Sport (£1180) with cheaper insurance.

Really bugs me as iv been saving for car but i get killed on insurance for being 19 despite 2 years completely faultless driving.

Any advice on good insurers would be great, cheers!

Hmm, sorry to hear about this!

I've always found either Tesco or Admiral to be the cheapest for me. At 19, I was with Tesco.

I'm with Greenlight now, and they were by far the cheapest quote, but I have a sneaking suspicion that you are too young to qualify for a decent quote with them, although give them a go definitely!! I am quite possibly wrong.

Other than that, Adrian Flux are also ok with younger drivers, as are HIC on occasion.

Best of luck mate,
Chris.

Try it, pick out one of the quotes you get on the list after you have received your quote, then ring the company independently from the search engine with exact info and i bet its cheaper on the phone.
