Ok very strange....

Even though VCDS says you were not WOT your boost graph looks like you were and is not showing spikes.  Also your boost is constantly exceeding specified after the turbo spools:

Are you running the Forge Actuator?

Something is not quite right here as you should not be boosting like that unless you are WOT...

so what figure\'s would you be expecting at 100%?

who knows how to do a throttle alignment?? am willing to travel!

also will this cause the boost spike?

do you think this would need to be re\'aligned after a engine conversion?

TBA taken from RossTech Wiki:

Drive-by-Wire (DBW) Engines using KWP-2000 or CAN

(These are engines WITHOUT a physical cable between the accelerator

and the throttle. Check to see if the engine speaks KWP-2000 or CAN by

looking in the top left of the Open Controller Screen. An example of a

KWP-2000 engine controller is the 2002+ B6 Audi A4 1.8T. Some examples

of CAN engine controllers are the Mk5 Golf 2.0T FSI)

Turn the key on but do not start the car.

    * [Select]
    * [01 - Engine]
    * [Basic Settings - 04]
    * Group 060
    * [Go!]

It should say "Basic Settings: OFF" on the top of your screen.

    * Click [ON/OFF/Next] to turn on Basic Settings.

It should now say "Basic Settings: ON" on the top of your screen. Once

you do this you will see the top right display say ADP RUN. The TB

adaptation is being done as soon as you switched basic settings on.

You will see the values change and hear the TB cycle for the first few

seconds then it will stop. Leave it in Basic Settings for about 30

seconds.

    * Click [ON/OFF/Next] to turn off Basic Settings.

It should now say "Basic Settings: OFF" on the top of your screen

    * Click the [Done, Go Back] button and you're all set.

Be sure not to touch the accelerator and make sure the engine is NOT

running when you do this!

Special Notes

    * In some engines, before doing a TBA, it may be necessary to

cycle the ignition off and back on after clearing faults.

That boost is extremely low, so ties up with not being at WOT.

Joe did you and ben doing any runs looking at what the fueling system was doing?

And according to the wiki link that I posted above, if the ECU has been removed or the battery for a prolonged period of time then you need to do a throttle body alignment, also says if the pedals are replaced, and I guess you still have your original pedals so think the alignment would be my first port of call.

Think Darren was offering his VCDS services?  And get some logs as per the APR site so you have all the info you could require.

No its not mate - I deducted atmospheric pressure = 1 bar.

Comparing these graphs to Mike_TFSI http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,15408.0.html which is the only other K04 logs that I can get my ands on (he is running stage 2+ APR the boost is comparable, but mikes show a WOT, but the engine loading on joes is ~140% where as mike, with the supposedly less agressive APR map is showing upto ~190%.

Anyone know what the engine loading value shows?  Could this point to a lack of fuelling for the boost level? as air is nothing without fuel to oxidise?  :smiley:

just had this responce from REVO....

\'Hi Joe,

it looks as though that log is at partial throttle. From the data you can see it’s massively overboosting at lower rpm then is trying to stabilize throughout the rev range. It could be due to any number of things; faulty boost control solenoid, DV, or possibly the actuator not set correctly. To name but a few.

Unfortunately we can only take educated guesses at issues by just looking at data-logs, I’d get it booked into someone that’s used to dealing with engine conversions and the TFSI engine to have it looked at and setup correctly!

Best Regards,

Kev Hall\'

IIRC it was the connection into the ECU wasn't correct, the blocks in the plug were pushed back or something, Stattlers sorted for him :happy2:
