I remember having a play with a Type-R. Struggled to keep up.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

mate, look into leon Fr and cupras, and the octavia vRS.  they have the same engine, chassis and brakes etc, but dont hold onto their money quite so well.

might be more up your alley.

for instance im getting rid of my 57 plate vRS for 9500 and thats only got 32k on the clock, same age, spec and mileage GTI will be worth quite a bit more id imagine

Welcome, good luck finding a car! There was one for sale on pistonheads not long ago for 8k with leather, sat nav etc and only 8k! Just had a fair few miles on it 80k i think it was! You should find one, dont worry about the miles VWs go on forever!

Hello, I came from a Civic too, however went to the dark side and picked up a the 2ltr TDI GT, for the type of mileage I do now, it really suits me! As others have said 60k on a civic isn't too bad - I only got £1.5k part ex from the dealer when I traded my civic in, but then the 5th gear syncro gone, engine management light always on, and there were suspension issues that needed to be looked into... Overall I'm happy, no looking back now
