New wheels and Audi R8 brakes
« on: July 01, 2010, 07:48:44 pm »
Firstly, a big thanks to our brake expert Dave, a few weeks back he supplied us with this brake kit which uses R8 rear 4 pot calipers, AP drilled rotors and custom made bells and brackets. The brakes are a perfect, no hassle fit and are shockingly good, I drive some high performance cars with some fantastic brakes but these are brilliant! such a well suited setup for the MK5 at such a good price.

Another benefit is the standard Team Dynamics 8x18 ET45 wheel fits perfectly   If anyone wants some fantastic deals on these wheels, give me a shout  :happy2:

....Not as lightweight as OZ Alleggerita's

But, don't get me wrong, those TD's look ace and are much cheaper than OZ's. Especially looking good with the R8 brakes

Brakes, calipers.. I'm not used to all this mix 'n match candy store stuff  If I see "R8" on a brake caliper I tend to think the whole brake kit is R8 but I guess that's what I'm meant to think.

....Er? How is that "self-promotion"? I'm just sharing the fact that OZ's are lighterweight in response to T88OMM's comment. And yes, I know you're just joking me :P

Shiny. Those discs look super good behind the rims, I've got to say.

Look great behind those rims Dave, very "proportioned"

Last set of the R8 brakes went this week to a great guy with a Nice Leon, its been a fun kit to get together and sell and really appealed to the OEM+++ brigade.

Its doubtful at nearly 700 for quid each caliper if the kit will ever be recreateable going forward, so the current owners have got some great brakes and made a solid investment, I drove the A3 equipped car and with the S3 rears it just felt so stable and with so much control  - very progressive, dare I say perfect?

Theres a kit in Brazil/one in Singapore.

Only 4 sets in the UK Each on an A3/Rocco/Ed30/Leon so by accident evenly spread out amongst the VAG fraternity.

Thanks to Dave@PDT for his patience but alls well that ends well - look great  :happy2:
