Laptop purchase

after having a little accident that included my laptop and car im not in the market for a new laptop.

i have ish 1000 - 1300 to spend. Although im not stupid when it comes to IT i do like asking for peoples experiences and recent purchases i may have overlooked

i want:

i7 (Core i7-7xxQM and above)
1080p minimum screen res
separate gpu
blue ray
hdmi port
backlit keyboard

i would like:

2 hdd bays
e sata connector

Couldn't careless about:
hdd size
how it looks
screen size

Any ideas?

The i7 QM being a quad-core mobile cpu will be extremely power hungry so you wont be able to venture far from a power socket. Depends on your requirements.

There isn't really gonna be much within your £1,000-£1,300 budget. Possible the HP Envy 15-1110ea (Generation 2) which has been discontinued in the UK for some weird reason (you can only order the generation 1 model which doesnt have 1090p screen).

Sadly in the UK we are a little limited when it comes to high spec laptop's. For some reason everyone just wants sh*tty cheap things.

MSI GT660? (not released yet and MSI laptops are difficult to get hold of anyway)

i can get a dell studio xps 16 at around 1300 with a 820qm and a 1080p RGB led screen (best reviewed laptop screen) or 1100 with the 720qm.

im not bothered about battery as i will be taking it out anyway, my laptop goes to 3 places all with power sockets. i leave the battery in the fridge and use it only when im going to need it.

leaving your batter in your laptop while plugged into mains just destroys your battery over time, if you charge it to 40% full and place it (wrapped up) in the fridge it stops it degrading over time.

the 40% is argued between many though but as its the 1st method i read its what i stick with and its worked in the passed. 3years later im still getting 3hours battery on my laptop and i was getting 3hours 30mins when new.

I'd love to be able to buy a laptop without a hdd or OS as im taking them straight out of the laptop when i get it anyway!
