OK, so car went in today for the geometry check and surprise, surprise it needed re-alignment...apparently this is what's causing the tyre wear. Having said that I think I'm still going to buy some new tyres and ditch the Bridgestone RE050's...

Getting the car back tomorrow hopefully...so can advise then if any difference in noise...

If the bridgestones have a fair amount of tread on them, then refit them onto the wheels so the feathered edge is on the outside not the inside.

Please forgive my ignorance.  I've just had my car back from it's first MoT today and it came with an advisory that the inner edges of both front tyres are feathering.  Do I need to get the tracking/alignment checked or can I just ignore it?  I've got loads of tread and no uneven wear as far as I can see.  Is feathering a bit like scrubbing?
