People with the R32 brake setup .. Q's?
« on: January 25, 2009, 11:18:31 pm »
Just a question to those who have upgraded to the R32 setup..

Did you change the brake fluid to a higher spec?
Did you swap the brake lines or stuck with OEM rubber lines?

one last one...
Anyone actually got the rears fitted ?
I know there are threads staing this cannot be done easily but there was one guy from golfmkv who has done it and stated it was a direct bolt on.

Ta.

i didn't change the fluid. I spoke to vw about the warranty. They said they would carry on the brake warranty if the fluid wasn't changed. And with regards to the lines, i didn't bother, they are good enough as they are. If your tracking it, ye change the fluid and lines but if not, i wouldn't bother

Motul RBF600 (just my personal opinion) and a change of lines won't hurt. It just depends if you need them or can justify the extra cost, as JPC says.. you won't notice any marked benefit of them on the road.

Everything says R32 rears will go on, save for that screw on the shield. I'm just struggling to lay my mitts on a set to see for myself.

OK.  Might do the off track day but nothing to extravagant, looking to get a proper track day car if I like it.

Question about the rears was also down to the fact if I painted them something other than red then the back would look odd if then they didnt fit   I have the full set so will find out - everything points to them fitting although there were a few comments which threw a spanner in the works saying they dont.

I will enquire about prices once they are re-painted - what do you think, red as norm or something like yellow...

You could be pragmatic and think as you've got the brakes so cheap, you could easily justify the lines/fluid?

Octavia VRs green calipers, that'd look nice on a black car.
