R-Fest meet - July 31st and August 1st 2010
Location: Billing Aquadrome (Northampton) at Teal Valley.

For those that aren't regular to the forums may be unaware that we are less than a month away from the first full scale R32OC meet, which will be taking place at Billing Aquadrome on the 31st July and 1st August. Here is what you can expect from the show;

As well as being the first true national Club Meet for the R32OC. The R-Fest meet will also be the largest gathering of Volkswagen 'R' models in the United Kingdom to date. Offering owners the ability to pull up a camping chair, have a beer and get the chance to talk with fellow Volkswagen R owners about their cars, their modifications and share some like-minded banter over a hot summers weekend.

In addition to enjoying the company of fellow R owners, the Polo Show and the uk-mkivs.net Mega Meet will also be having there shows on opposite fields. So if you like your Volkswagens then this show is not to be missed!

Trade Stands

...and as if we haven't given you enough reasons to come already. The Marriott Motor Group (VW/Audi Dealer Franchise) and TTS Roadsport will be joining us on both days to offer us discounted parts, accessories and Volkswagen lubricants. We have been able to secure some amazing special show offers including;

- 12x1lt bottles of Castrol SLX Longtec (R32 fixed servicing oil) for only £50

- 24x1lt bottles of Castrol SLX Longtec (R32 fixed servicing oil) for only £90

- 225/40/18 92Y (R32 size) Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric tyres for only £107.50 each

- Pirelli P-Zero Nero tyres for only £95.00 each

- Special show offer on Haldex Performance ECU's and switches (prices TBC) available to buy on the day from TTS Roadsport. Official UK Supplier of Haldex Products.

- To Be Confirmed: Potential special offer newly launched on MKV R32 Revo DSG remap (and believe me it's good! )

There will also be countless other MKIV and MKV related items such as servicing parts, wiper blades, OEM retrofit parts, retrofit accessories and merchandise. All at discounted rates for the show.

The benefit of our show is that these two companies are not having to pay astronomical Trade Stand fees which major shows like GTi International charge so there offers represent amazing value for money. However, it is worth pointing out that they are show offers only and are whilst stocks last. There is a cash machine at Billing Aquadrome should you wish to make an emergency cash withdrawl, however it will charge you so be sure to have some cash ready beforehand to get the best out of these deals.

Another addition to the show will be the appearance of a Gladiator Joust and Penalty shootout which is kindly being supplied by forum member 'wwr32'. Perfect for the big kids amongst us!

Times:

Friday
6pm – 'Hardcore' Campers arrive

Saturday
10am – Show Start and Trade Stalls open.
5pm – Evening BBQ

Sunday
10am – Show Start and Trade Stalls open.
Midday: BBQ
1pm - Show & Shine judging
2pm – Show & Shine Awards
5pm - Show Ends

Polo Shirts

A limited run of 25 Polo Shirts have been created to mark the first show and will available to ship in the next 72 hours. The Polo shirts are official Volkswagen Merchandise embroided (none of this cheap printed lark) with the R-fest Logo, are available in blue or black and in sizes small>XXX large with the most common size being medium. Needless to say they look amazing and photos will be on the R-fest forum as soon as I received them!

They are priced at an attractive £19.99 including UK postage and all funds will be going to the costs of the event. If anyone is interested in one please feel free to personal message me on the r32oc forums (Nelson_R32)

Camping

Hotels in the immediate vicinity are now all fully booked up. So your choices are limited to Camping, Camping Pods, Caravan Hire, Chalet Hire or staying with Friends in Northampton.

When booking please say that you require the rally rate; quote code 'CP0710' and mention R-Fest/R32OC. this will ensure you get allocated into our field (Teal Meadow). The contact number for Billing Reservations is 01524 781453

Please use common sense with your property. As with any campsite ensure your electronics/keys are hidden inside your sleeping bag or locked in your when you are away from your tent or asleep.

Prices;

Overnight Camping - £15.00 per overnight stay for one car (up to 4 people). No limitation on the size of the tent. This gives you two days access to Billing Aquadrome.

Day Entry - Day passes are £10.00 for one car (up to four people)

Please note; If you are a light sleeper I'd recommend some ear plugs as it's inevitable other areas of the campsite will be up until late. Beer is allowed (as are beer pyramids  ) but please make an effort to keep the site clean.

Anything else?

Yes. Thank you to everyone who has donated, helped out with organising and who will be helping out on the weekend itself. I'd like to make a special mention though to 'Chris _B' on the r32oc forums who has helped raise over £100 towards the event, well done that man!

Hopefully I've covered everything in here, but if I haven't please feel free to ask in the R-fest forum.

All the best and hope you enjoy the show

Sounds interesting. Perhaps a small group of us could show up and annoy the R32OC/uk-mkivs people?  :rolleye:

Still have a uk-mkivs sticker on my car...
