CAN BUS GATEWAY

Hi,

can anyone help will this can bus gateway 1K0 907 530 AD be ok in my 2006 gti.   :smiley:

Yes, I fitted the same one to my 2006 GTI. You will need to completely recode it using VCDS and as this new CAN BUS uses a much longer HEX string than your original one (it has more options available). This means you can't just copy over your current coding, you'll have to go through each option one by one. Sounds daunting but it isn't that bad, I did mine myself.

It really isn't that difficult to do if you have a good working knowledge of VCDS and have a print out of the original settings. I didn't find it to be much of a problem at all, but I am an IT Consultant so I've never found VCDS coding to be particularly taxing.

Take the trip and go and see Darren (mortygttdi)

He's a genious at the diagnostics and electrical side of things, he supplied, fitted and coded my new Canbus Gateway for me.

I go and see him and I live in Carlisle which is over 2hrs away, Mansfield isn't that far really!
