My Milltek Experience(And not a good one).....
« on: January 26, 2009, 02:11:30 pm »
I'll try not to go on too much about this but wanted to vent my frustration.....

I ordered a Milltek exhaust last week which was due to arrive for fitting on Friday.  I arranged to take a day off work for this.  The exhaust (which was apparently only dispatched on Thursday.) did not arrive on time.  Hence 1 day wasted.

Monday morning (another day off work! :angry015:) was again a waste of time, the Milltek order arrived, but no exhaust for me, the order sheet was ticked but the exhaust was'nt packed!!!!!!!!!!!.....1 more day wasted.

Now I phoned Milltek to clarify if the facts as stated where true, they did apologise and say there was a mix up.

Previously when I ordered a Milltek for my VXR Astra 2 years ago, it arrived damaged, again another wasted day.

So all I seem to have got out of my Milltek experience is 3 lost days leave.... :angry015: :fighting:

I don't like to be petty but being the second time I've been let down by Milltek I'm going to return to my original option an Apr RSC exhaust.

They were polite and as I said accepted responsibility and did apologise, but perhaps bearing in mind my wasted time a little discount or free fitting etc wouldnt have hurt??????????????????

Sorry to hear about this mate. I was under the impression that you were going for the APR - from the recommendation from Awesome and because you wanted something different?

You won't regret the APR.................trust me! It gets better and better by the day! Even today, I was revving it on the driveway because it was popping and banging! (when it gets warm it does this a lottttt)

not good fella but if you hang on for a little bit longer there is going to be something in the group buy section for the exhaust i am testing for blueflame so it could work out cheaper for a full system  :happy2:

I may be tempted to do that, tbh I'm like a kid in the candy shop at the moment, dont know what I want, I was playing safe with the Milltek but look where that got me, so my minds more open now and considering the APR RSC again, though it would be nice to save a few pounds as well.

I have to say I was well impressed with the look and sound of your exhaust, I would like something aggresive and that might fit the bill, trouble is the Apr looks and sounds great too, as for Milltek.. :angry015: :angry015: :angry015:.

Be interesting to know a rough time period for the developement of the ED30 exhaust.

our old F430 used to spit flames, looks cool as hell when its overtaking you doing about 140 and theres 4 blue flames coming out of the back   but that never banged or popped, just pure flames

id like flames aswell  :jumpmove: :rolleye:

I'm in Northern Ireland so a trip to the pods out for me.  I drove back today cursing Milltek and was thinking the blueflame exhaust would be a good option along with the apr .  I'll definately hang fire see what sort of offer comes up. :happy2:    Hopefully some of the others on the site at the pod will post their views on the two exhausts.

my milly was a week late and arrived damaged, however i love it now its on the car

those who want flames all you need is a wire to a live switched feed and hook the other end up to a spark plug tucked into the exhaust exit. flamage.... :rolleye:

It's frustrating looking forward to something for it to go wrong, it didnt help I had to wait about for 2 hours to be told that my exhaust was off and they couldnt fit the Milltek as it was non existant!!!!!!!!  And to make thinks worse my exhaust isnt sitting right after it was put on again.

I await the upcoming Blueflame group buy with interest.......
