Rear VW Badge...help sourcing one please...
« on: July 12, 2010, 02:14:46 pm »
Right, so I found out today that you can't buy the rear VW emblem badge on it's own, you have to buy the whole locking mechanism with it - for a total cost of c. £100! Errrrrrrrr no thanks!

Any ideas where I can just get the actual plastic emblem?

Or alternatively does anyone want to swap for my black one (it probably needs re-spraying to be honest).

Any guidance appreciated!!

And no, stealing one from another Golf is not a viable option....yet.

Oh thanks for that!! I'm useless with eBay. Am i correct in saying that the first link is a badge for the later models. The second link is for the all smooth badge isn't it?

I`m not 100% but I think they are the SAME style badge, just the picture of the first one isn`t very clear.... (Small Pic)

See if you can get a part number from any of the guys selling them...

How this helps...

(Is this to help take your back to stock to sell, if so go for the cheap, slightly marked one.)  :ashamed:

Yeah its for bringing the car back to standard. I don't mind a slightly scratched one at all, just wanted to make sure it was my style of badge. I'll send the dude a message on eBay i think!

Cheers pal  :happy2:

Your original VW badge should have the part number written on it, so any replacement will have to have the EXACT same code otherwise the clips will be different and will not mate up with the backplate.

Alternatively try scouring the scrapyards for some recent write-offs. The badge mechanism is easy to get off with just 3 Torx screws holding it on. :happy2:
Golf R gone.
