remap on high mileage
« on: July 14, 2010, 09:19:07 pm »
hi guys/girls

i have a 56 non dsg golf that is now reaching the 60000 mile marker. i picked the car up around 59500 which these were motor way mile as the previous owner was a rep. absolutley nothing wrong with the car at all shes running lyk a beaut  :pomppomp:

but im abit concerned would a remap be too much for this mileage, and what sort of upgrades would be necessery ( if any ) for the engine 2 become less stressful with the remap.

now correct me if im wrong but ive heard that the revo is an agressive remap??

would it be suitable for my car as ive come across so many good reviews

thanks for your help

i think what i'd be most aware of is the clutch slipping if it is a manual.

i wouldnt be concerned at all with the engine.  :happy2:

If your car could speak, it wouldn't say a word... instead it would be SCREAMING out for a remap and jealously eyeing other remapped GTIs

On a more serious note, I would just replace the DV and keep an eye on the clutch and you might want to have your camlobe inspected for wear after a few thousand miles as its a known issue if I remember correctly.  The engine won't be much different from a 10k mileage engine that has been driven around town for most of its life.  :happy2:
