I'm looking to purchase a Jeep Grand Cherokee for the wife and the HPI check has brought up an issue
The check was carried out by the the RAC and it brought up the following alerts:
Report Summary
Interest registered against a previous plate
The V5 registration document issue date does not match the information provided by the DVLA
What concerns me is the V5 issue date. The car was transfered from a cherished number plate the day before the issue date on the V5 which makes perfect sense to me. However the data check says:
Vehicle Documents
V5 issue date
The V5 registration document issue date does not match the information provided
by the DVLA
I have called the DVLA and they were about as much help as a chocolate ashtray
They will not tell me anything about the issue date of the V5 because I do not own the car.
I am wondering if the number plate transfer may have caused a problem with the issue date on the V5 which has caused the issue date to be incorrect in the database for the car data check?
Does anybody know if this is a common problem or is there something to be genuinely suspicious of here?
Does anybody know how to get to the bottom of this?
Any help would be extremely appreciated.
