thanks Gaz.

I do miss him, and will always remember the morning I tried to wake him.  Such a feeling of loss, I hope I never feel anything like it again.

We had been out the day before, for a nice walk along the shoreline at Lyme Regis, he enjoyed the sea, so I think he went happy.

He lives on in your memory, Dave.

It's good that he at least passed on in his sleep. Dogs are a full member of a human family.

R.I.P.

Whole heartedly agree with that statement Robin. It's a huge loss when they go.

Some of the doggie forums have a section they call Rainbow Bridge for the departed ones and the stuff you read in them breaks your heart.

My Boxer is getting towards age 9 now and its breaking my heart knowing that he wont be around for ever. 10-12 out of a boxer is a good shout.

PS Boxers are A1 with children, very protective - its other dogs they're not great with, all the kids pull him/ears/stump/legs/saggy skin and he never muffs - if a staffy crosses his path then he can be a handful

....That's the only trouble with dogs - They simply don't live long enough unfortunately  :sad1:

:signLOL: he is Robin, he`s never chewed anything of value, although he did run off with my wheel nut covers once.

he`s just been out in the garden trying to show an hedgehog off but dare`nt get within 4 feet of it,

....They're canny little creatures. I had to rescue this youngster from a Pitt Bull - It sounds heroic but the dog was on a lead (harness) and it was helped by the owner not being keen on his dog devouring the hog. I got this photo though:

Love it Robin, We know a woman who set up a charity for hedgehog rescue because of the climate/seasons being all muddled up they confuse the hibernation/mating times so many mothers die and leave the mini hogs, she had about 20 at one time having to bottle feed them all.
Lovely creatures.  :happy2:
