I'm having the mechatronic unit replaced next week on my 2008 DSG. The symptoms are very clunky gear changes from first to second and second to third. It is also a bit random, sometimes it drives smoothly others like I've missed the gear changes. I haven't noticed any change in reverse, still feels the same. I can't wait to get it done, I had only had it 2 weeks when it went so haven't really enjoyed that silky smooth gear change its supposed to have!
