sharks map gave 280lbft when the DSG was limiting it, but when they bypassed the issue he made 348hp/350lbft

Without the dsg map I got 334bhp and 320lbs of torque. Shark is moving premises soon and getting a dyno. I would say that since they know what the issue is now, they could probably get more out of the map, especially once they get a dyno in. The current group buy is an excellent deal aswell.

So to be clear, Ben rewrote his map to suit HeavyD? Thus, taking the car from 280 to around 350 lbs/ft? That's fine and all I need to know really!!

HD - did you go for the Stage 2 DSG map?

Matt

PDT stated it was the stage 1 map.

Ok story was RR at leeds, made 317bhp and 280lb/ft. went to shark hq. by datalogging only, after 6 hrs, map was tuned to their liking. went to PDT, had it RR'd, it made 334bhp and 320lbs of torque. I then had a stage 1 dsg map loaded onto car, was either dsg map, or ECU  adapting to the new map, it made 348bhp and 350lbs torque.

DONT do what I did and pay for 4 different companies remaps!!!!
Just phone Revo HQ up, and I'm sure they can do something for you to help sort it out, if they cant, the group buy will cost you about  Normal price: £449 including VAT
Group buy price: £349 including VAT / £304.10 including VAT for Freedom members or £449/£404.10 and choose a free STS
But persevere, as thats all money down the drain if Revo can help you out!!!!
I was told by Revo that their DSG stage 2 map will only work in conjunction with Revo ECU remap.

Hello,  I thought I would post a realistic power graph from one of our customers spec1-custom Mk5 Gti.

Car:  Golf GTI Mk5 2.0 TFSI k03

tuner/stage/settings: R-TECH Custom Spec1 dyno map

Modifications: Stock with V-power

Type of Dyno/operator: Bosch LPS eddy barke dyno

miscellaneous details:  Faultless engine, Not as much PEAK torque as most tuners maps but it hold the torque band well to give a good area under the curve.

Mk5 Golf GTI 197  2.0TFSI Custom Spec1 rolling road remap session stock pwr run = 204bhp
Final results =241.96bhp@5300rpm 266.34lbft

Pre remap inspection  DV fine & PCV fine....and at last a fault free engine running 100% spot on out the box.

We made three map revisions all based from our generic spec1-gen4 map, we dyno and log the car and monitor where the flat spot are on the mapping which are unique to every car, we read pages of VCDS logs to see where we can add more power ans still be in the safe area.  We will repeat a few time until we are happy with the logs and the graph is a smooth at it can be.   Just by custom mapping on the dyno the aim is to get rid of all the dips, the by product of making the graph smooth is extra power (not peak power) as you can see on the graph below we gained another 12lbft and 12bhp between 3000-4000rpm which has a knock on effect at the top end curve, another 5-6bhp across the whole band.   These numbers dont sound much as "peak number" but stretched over the whole rpm range it make the car feel night and day on the road.
More average area uder the curve the quicker the car and this is what we aim to do to make our remap the quality they are.... not peak number or boost spikes.

Graph of my first custom remap on a  Mk5 GTI fitted with k04 turbo, S3 injectors and uprated HPFP and the usual mods turbo back ect...   It took me over a week and 50 hours to get it to how I wanted it  and to keep the boost within range of the stock GTI 2580mb map sensor scale, and around 10 hours just getting the fuel trims from from -19% to around -0.7.  Final dyno runs 335bhp and final on road datalogging = 270gs via the maf.  I am very happy with the result I just hope the customer thinks the same.  :driver:
