While we are there and as Chungster 'forgot' he had sold his.

Does anyone have a part number for one of these.

Its the storage bin instead of the ashtray.

Did VW do a cost cutting excercise on this part as well. Mine has a cubby hole exactly the same as the above picture fitted, but with the hinged lid fitted (just like an ashtray). Has the same rubber mat fitted and a Power socket with a spring flap on it ?

Not sure. I have the hinged lid on mine which spends all the time open as I have something in the 12v socket.

The plot thickens. Popped in for some diagnostic work and asked if the trim was in.

It is however it turns out any 1K1 parts are LHD :sad1:

When I get the correct part no.s I will update this.

Insert for stowage compartment
satin black 1K0 863 330A

Seems this is the insert for the Ashtray not the Stowage compartment.

Anyone?

The open storage compartment is 1K0 857 925 C 1QB £21

There are two mats (4) 1K0 863 330 9B9 and 1K0 863 330 A 9B9

Not sure what the difference is as they both say smoking/non smoking

The ashtray (with lid) consists of the following

Main part 1K0 857 961 9B9 £33
Top section  1K0 863 487 F 1QB £16
Lid 1K0 857 351 F 1QB £12

^^^^^ is not a Golf V part, its from the EOS or Golf VI (as it has more switch positions) but will fit on the Golf V

The one I have fitted has just the 4 buttons and was PN 1K0  857 925C Black 1QB.

The bag for the insert reads 1K0 863 330 A 9B9 but the contents are the same as my old covered bin as they have a rectangular key on the back. Its PN is 1K0 863 330 A with 9B9 being the trim colour I guess.

I will speak with the parts man at VW later.  :sad1:

The difference in the insert mats is Armrest fitted or not.  Don't know why??

Did you get the picture I sent last night Ian?

Looks like you are correct

1K0 863 330 A

Front Center Armrest
Smoking/Non Smoking

1K0 863 330

Without Center armrest front
Smoking/Non Smoking

and 9B9 is the colour (black)

Cant see why the armrest matters as its nowhere near it
