Official VW remap?
« on: July 18, 2010, 10:19:03 pm »
Has anyone heard of VW dealers doing a remap? Specifically for a Mk6 1.4 TSI. If so who's the map buy etc and what do they usually charge?

Ta.

There is no official VW map that I know of , some dealers do revo maps etc but they won't be covered by the conventional vw warranty, (they may provide there own version though)

My local VW dealer sells the VWR tunning range but its not covered by Volkswagen own warranty its covered by VWR's own warranty.

As stated on my local dealers website under FAQs

.
I've heard that VW in some countries such as Greece offer a remap option. Heard it was Revo but I don't know the facts for certain.

Although of course not included in the VW warranty, my VW dealership has no problem working on remapped/modified VW's. Attitudes vary from dealer to dealer.

Attitudes vary from dealer to dealer.

You can say that again, you sound like your very lucky with your deal RR.

I've totally given up on VW Croydon.

You used to be able to get Oettinger maps/mods from German dealers and still retain your warranty too.

Lots of manufacturers doing it now, look at the success Mini has had with the JWC stuff, only stands to reason they'd want a share.

^ exactly and FIAT with the dealer fit tunning kits for the arbarth models.
Or Vauxhall a year or so ago with the tunning kits for the fiat sourced TDIs/
Or Ford with there Mountune dealer fit kits.

I had hoped VW when they launched there new section of VW for the R brand would have done similar.

Some Europeen countries ABT is importer approved and sold through the dealers for the mk6 GTI.
