Re-map
« on: July 24, 2010, 11:08:53 pm »
Hello all,

I'm thinking of getting my 2005 gti re-mapped.  An extra 45 bhp and 50 ft/lbs of torque.  Does anyone know what this takes the 0-60 mph down to, also the top speed?

I would also like to hear from anyone who has done this and came across any problems.

Many thanks.

top speed wont change really, thats to do with the gearing really.  0-60 will improvwe a little.  you will get huge gains in the midrange though, and tat is where it counts on the road.

ie 30-50, 50-70 and the amount of puling ower from low speed in high gears will be drastically improve

On my giac mapped gti my 0-60 time dropped to about 6.2 seconds I got slightly better once but it wasn't repeated.
As said the biggest benifit will come from in gear times and better mpg

Thanks for the feed back.  It's Angel tuning that's going to re-map it.  Looks like the next thing I'll have to do will be the clutch.

Cheers.

Angel Tuning aren't bad (they did my last car) but if I were you  i'd take it to a place that can live map it on a rolling road. Much better than a guy on your drive with a laptop!

Where you based and someone will be able to suggest somewhere local?!
