Are falken fk452 Tyres any good?
« on: July 22, 2010, 12:57:39 pm »
Hi all. Sorting out a new set of alloys at the moment, and the dealers have said that they can do 4 budget tyres  for £220, or 4 falken fk452 for £300, how good are they? Should I look elsewhere for tyres for that price?

You can get Sessanta's for a little over £300 for tyres only - in case you know a friendly chap to fit them for you and they're meant to be very good

I have the falken fk452's - would rate them very highly.  Much better than the duplop sportmaxx's I had before.  They do benefit noticably from getting some heat in them.  Very evident in the winter ...

...........i've got these now and out of the 2 these would be my choice, but the Falken is one of the better upper budget tyres.

I am running these tyres, and for the money they are quite good. I just run them above 40psi because I found  the side walls to be a bit soft for a sharp turn in.  :happy2:

Not driven on a Falken tyre for a while, but they used to be known as a ditchfinder  :signLOL:

I did have some on a set of wheels I bought about a year ago and hated them, they were scary in the wet and luckily they wore down pretty quickly so I changed them for something better.

Tyres are a very subjective product, I speak to customers that buy trashy tyres like Wanli and nangkang etc...then claim they are great  but unless they have tried a tyre that is truly great they wouldnt know otherwise I suppose.

I now have vreds on the Golf and the BMW and am very pleased with them.

Dangit, you tell me that now that I have gone and bought a set going on the above comments.
Ah well, If they are useless then I can always take them off and sell them on, shouldn't lose too much on them.
Thanks all.

Put it this way, you get what you pay for. I've been running them for 6 months now and am not enjoying it one bit! However, my wallet liked it!
