Check your diaphrams.
« on: July 22, 2010, 02:19:11 pm »
I'll try to get a picture up asap but theres been a niggling whistle from my car a little while now and have been holding of having it looked at until the service was due. Picked up my car this morning after supplying them with the new uprated version and oh my what a difference. Checked the old one and there was a huge hole in the rubber. The old girl picks up like a beauty again, so much so it's like a new car. So if theres a niggling little doubt in your mind about the car get it sorted sooner rather than later. Right I'm off out for a blast  :happy2:

Ok the first one is the diverter valve...doesn't look too bad from a distance

Second one is with the plastic collar removed and you can see a little slit in the rubber

And finally with the diaphram removed and turned inside out to stretch the rubber...oh dear

on k03 in the most awkward place ever, right at the back of the engine next to the turbo

on the k04 i believe this is at the front to the right hand side, i could be wrong with this one though

How do I know what engine mine is ????  :ashamed: :ashamed:

It's a 2005 plate by the way.

Is this an easy fix for some one who has pigs tits for fingers?

Thanks  :happy2:

its in the dv, anybody who has a diaphram DV i suggest changing to a piston type anyways as its only 40£ to replace with and that will never break.

If you need any games consoles or games, accessories, etc etc, PM me for my best price,

^^^ I second that, Joe. The 'D' valve was ~£46, when I got mine in February.

I'm only standard and it made a real difference to mid range and immediately felt more, erm... 'boosty'.

Crap description, but I know what I mean...  :ashamed:
MKV GTI | Reflex Silver | 5-dr, Family-Spec | 17" w/anthracite Finish | Manual | Highline | Cruise | Revision 'D' DV | Dirty Pipes |
