Diaphragm check - fail

I can't even get the fsckin' engine cover off! :(

It helps if the engine is warm but you really have to pull.  Start at the back right.  Once that one is free the rest are easier.

Unless you have an ed30, you dont need to take the engine cover off to check the dv.

Thanks for that; I do have an Ed30, but I can't see the DV; I don't know exactly what I'm looking for y'see... ;)

Get a firm hold of it, and then give it a hard yank.
 
When it comes to putting it back on, lube up the mount points and push it on there hard.

The DV on the Ed30 is a long hose on the left hand side of the engine. Like in this image:

Thanks for the advice.  Left the engine cover where it is, and found the DV.

The DV appears to be just fine; no splits or cracks or tears.

I've not checked mine yet.

I take it you remove the front air intake pipe first, engine cover, then the star screws on dump valve ?
Had: Edition 30, 3 Door Manual, Pearl Black, Cruise Control, IPod Prep, Arm Rest, Auto Lights and Wipers

Hmm, I would have thought better access from underneath on the Ko3 turbo's.  I certainly wouldn't be attacking it from the top.

I changed a K03 DV yesterday, and its an axle stand and wheel off job, then its a struggle but not to bad :smiley:
