.
Fairly easy. The tricky part is if you want them colour coded as the paint can interfere with the sensors.

Right I see thanks. I've seen some genuine vw ones on eBay for £170
Does that seem like a fair price? So what do you need to do to get them colour coded?

^^^^
£170 seems the right price. My VW dealer supplied mine for £160 (gave me discount) 4 years ago - They were aftermarket but VW approved. They advised not painting them but I know it can be done by very precise masking - The sensors are in the recessed rings. Wiring instructions were poor and they had to fiddle around to get it right but they've never let me down in 4 years.

I think I prefer them to a reversing camera which I think gives a weird perspective and unrealistic sense of distance, but to be fair I haven't used one long term. Retro fitting a reversing camera is another option though - SteveP has posted a thread about it IIRC.

With genuine VW sensors you will need the holders too. As sold with the bumper.
Hard to describe but if you are unsure I can get you pics tomoz as I have a set of holders.
It will probably be easier if you use the £50 eBay ones.

Hi thanks for your help but I've decided to spend a bit more money and go for the reverse camera instead. I've heard nothing but good things. Thanks anyway.

Love my camera, wouldn't be without it now.

But I still like the sensors too. Nothing like the warning beep if something steps in the way or there is something you haven't spotted in the camera.

Good luck with the retro fit.

No probs pics tomoz.

They are like mushrooms that the sensors fit in. These then fit into larger holes in the bumper.

My reason for posting is that genuine sensors will need the adapters.

There is a good few kits at the minute on ebay, the ones by CarSystems are the genuine vw ones and come with every thing needed to have OPS.

They will work with the RNS showing a visual representation of your car and how close you are to an object, together with the camera it is an awesome safety feature.
